For those having some sensible insight to Robert Downey Jr's acting on the highly addictive fictional character of Sherlock Holmes, it is indeed a pleasure to notice that the role by Mr. Cumberbatch has been more or less what one can call MODERN. The use of mobile phones, technological gadgets, surveillance aides like GPS, and not to forget (the self hypnotic) MIND PALACE is one of the few, brilliant exaggerations by Steven Moffat and Mark Grattis.
It is pertinent to mention that Benedict Cumberbatch got his international recognition from BBC's TV Drama of SHERLOCK. I, personally, enjoy watching Sherlock Holmes taking charge of the crime scene, with Dr. John Watson seconding him. Reminds me of the days I spent reading the novels of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and picturing how Sherlock would have looked in reality. Imagination, as the word suggests, needs no introduction. Imagination has been aggressively used, yet the level of aggression in the usage has been limited to sticking to reality. No doubt, it is one of the most enjoyable seasons BBC has ever produced.
